SCATS Awards Austin General Contracting with Prestigious Safe Partner Award

The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) of the State of Nevada’s Division of Industrial Relations recently recognized the Las Vegas-based general contractor and subcontracting company, Austin General Contracting (AGC), for receiving the Safe Partner Award. The Safe Partner Award is awarded to organizations that use the full-service consultation and training services provided by SCATS. The Safe Partner Award is designed to increase safety awareness and strengthen the safety culture within the workplace. This elite award is only given to four businesses per year out of the 50,000 employers in Nevada.

“Together we build greatness,” said Mike Austin, president of Austin General Contracting. “As AGC has grown, we saw a need to refine our safety program. We enlisted the help and expertise of SCATS to protect our employees.”

Through working with SCATS, AGC was able to incorporate industrial hygienists, an integral addition to the company that helped AGC reach zero safety incidents and advance safety culture within the company.

AGC joins a committed group of businesses that have placed employee safety at the top of their priority list. A commitment by management to work with SCATS leads to exemplary safety and health programs that can reduce or eliminate injuries and illness. Safe Partner Award recognition is granted for utilizing a range of the different SCATS services over time. SCATS consultants provide employers with confidential hazard identification, program development, program implementation assistance and training, all at no cost.

“We commend Austin General Contracting for their dedication to workplace health and safety,” said SCATS Chief Administrative Officer, Todd Schultz. “While working with SCATS, AGC has gladly made company-wide changes to ensure that dedication to safety is part of its workplace culture. Because of that, AGC is very deserving of the Safe Partner Award.”

Businesses interested in learning more about the Safe Partner award and the full range of safety and health recognition programs provided by SCATS are encouraged to visit the SCATS website here or call directly at 1-877-4SAFENV.
