RESPIRABLE CRYSTALLINE SILICA IN CONSTRUCTION (RENO)
This program includes an overview of the OSHA Respirable crystalline silica standard 1926.1153. The program will give the learner a brief history of silica and silicosis as it has affected and continues to affect workers in the United States for nearly the last century. Following a brief overview and history of the material, the standard will be discussed in detail as to how it pertains to construction work and tasks, how to protect workers from silica exposure, and the requirements necessary to attain compliance. Topics covered include: Exposure control methods, respiratory protection, housekeeping and medical surveillance.
