Heat Illness Prevention Regulatory Review

In this 3-Hour Course we will review Nevada regulation regarding exposure to heat related hazards that can cause or are likely to cause heat illness. We will go section by section through the new regulation and discuss the guidance that OSHA has approved that will assist employers be compliant with the law. We will pay particular attention to how to conduct a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) focusing on the identification of heat related hazards, as well as potential controls for those hazards.

Course Description

This class provides an overview of the Federal OSHA National Emphasis Program (NEP) and the Nevada OSHA letter on Heat Related Illnesses. Topics include: heat priority days, National Weather Service, heat stress, heat related illnesses, hierarchy of controls, employer training employees in heat related issues, employer building a prevention program.
