New Workplace Violence Planning Requirements are coming for Medical Facilities

Effective July 1, 2020 certain medical facilities will have to develop and carry out a plan for the prevention of workplace violence and report incidents of workplace violence to Nevada OSHA. In addition to a written plan, certain medical facilities will be required to make physical modifications to areas that house potentially violent patients and conduct workplace violence training for affected employees. We have created a summary of this new law that includes an overview of the types of facilities, the basic requirements, procedures, training, and reporting for Nevada OSHA that can be downloaded below.

SCATS can help you with planning for these changes at your facility - free of charge. Please contact us at 1-877-4SAFENV or submit a Consultation Request on our site.

For the complete requirements in Assembly Bill 348, visit the Nevada Electronic Legislative Information System (NELIS) and select AB348 or the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 618 when revised.
